Tips With Video Guide

When it comes to caring for your Bulldog you will find that in some cases they can be selective on what type of care they want that day, with that said it is important to find what works for you. It is recommended that you consult with your breeder or vet for guidance on how to address when this comes up.

Here are some videos that we have found to be helpful when caring for our Bulldogs.

Ear Care

Cleaning Folds

Note: We have found that baby wipes work great when performing the daily fold care. The wipes need to be fragrance free. You can locate baby wipes at your local grocery store and Costco also sales wipes that work great.

Tail Pockets

Note: A couple of things that we have found that have worked are witch-hazel and gold bond powder. When you have a infected tail pocket it is very important to keep it clean and dry. If you find that your dog is very uncomfortable and the area is severely infected we would recommend that you take your dog to your vet as they may need to be placed on antibiotics.

EyeCare

Note: It is possible that your Bulldog make get dry eye due to seasonal allergies and then this happens they may produce a greenish snot like discharge from the eye. If this happens be sure to clean the spot using a warm damp cloth or paper towl being careful not to touch or scrape the eye. To help keep the eye moist use drops such as Visine Totality. If you notice that the eye is draining excessively and it continues to produce the discharge we recommend that you take your dog to the vet as they may have an infection or a potential scratch on their cornea. Typically vets will examine the eye and provide medicated eye drops to deal with the infection and a steroid to help heal the eye.

NailCare

Note: We recommend trimming your Bulldogs nails on a weekly basis, if you are not comfortable with completing this tasks most vets will offer this as a service that they can provide. We prefer to Dremmel the nails as this smooths the surface preventing unevenness on the nail. Be sure to introduce your Bulldog to this at a young age that way they are acclimated with this process.
